It didn't matter to me, as it was just wonderful to digitize these very old parts of my family's photos. The converter only picks up a 35mm size so just be aware if you have the square type slides the top and bottom will be cut off. One word of caution - 35mm slide conversions work best - I had a lot of the very old slides that were square with a slim slide frame around them. This little gadget is wonderful! I had many slides from the 1960s to convert and this little baby did the job! It is VERY easy to use and set up.
